Is Pristine Barber Academy an approved school?

Yes, we are a barber college acknowledged by the Bureau of Post Primary Education as well as the State Board of California. Our program is designed to meet the standards required for state licensing in barbering.

What programs do you offer?

We offer a 1,000-hour Barbering Program and a 200 hour Barber Crossover for licensed Cosmetologists.

How long does it take to complete the program?

We offer flexible schedules but if you commit to full time you can finish in 25-30 weeks and with a part time schedule it will take you anywhere from 40-50 weeks.

How can I enroll?

What will I learn?

The program covers:

• Haircutting and styling techniques

• Contemporary barbering methods

• Beard grooming and shaving

• Sanitation and safety practices

• Business ethics and customer service skills

• State laws and regulations for barbers.

What are the admission requirements?

Must be at least 17 years old

• High school diploma, GED, or Transcript showing proof you completed the 10th grade

• Valid government-issued ID

• Receive criminal disclosure pre-approval from State Board of Barbering

Do I need prior experience to join?

No prior experience is necessary. Our program is designed for beginners as well as those looking to enhance their skills.

How much is the program cost?

Tuition is $14,675 with kit included for Barber Program. Tuition is $5,535 with kit included for the Barber Crossover. Please contact our office for detailed information about fees, grants, and payment options.

Will I get my license once I finish my hours?

We do not issue you your license. Once you complete all your tasks and the 1,000 hours you will apply with the State of CA to take your Barber Exam. You must pass with 70% or higher to get your barber license.

Do you provide job placement?

We support our students in transitioning from students and into their profession by utilizing our network of barbershops, assist them with career advice, and portfolio building.

Do you offer services to the public?

Yes, our students provide services to the public under the supervision of licensed instructors. Services are offered at discounted rates.

Do you need to make an appointment for a haircut?

No, we accept walk-ins Monday to Friday 10am-7pm. If there is a specific barber you would like to book with please give us a call to schedule an appointment.

What resources do you provide for your students?

We provide mentorship, career advice, and hands-on training to ensure students succeed in the program and beyond.

Can I transfer from another school?

Yes, only if the school you are transferring from is BPPE approved and you provide proof of training and school transcript.
